MIV Disaster Response Updates

It is so amazing to see all the churches and the community come together to help in the MIV!


If you would like to bring a mission team out to the MIV, please fill out the Mission Team Request below and submit it to the district office.  We will help you organize your trip which can include food, lodging and work sites.


Shirts can be ordered using the form below and can be picked up at the District office @ 4501 Denlinger Road in Trotwood beginning the week of July 8th.  T-shirts are free, however, donations will be accepted.


Furniture Donations
Many families have been displaced and are needing needing furniture in their new place of residence. St Vincent de Paul’s Community Center is in need donations of furniture (chairs, tables, sofas, lamps, etc). At this time donors are responsible to get donations to the center.
- Deliver to 945 S Edwin C. Moses Blvd
- M-F, 7:30am – 4:45pm
- Saturday, 9:30am – 3:40pm

Hundreds of advocates needed—the goal is to match each displaced family or individual with a supportive family / individual, having weekly contact for support and encouragement for 3-6 months. Please contact the Miami Valley CAP if you are interested. Training and screening will be provided through Miami Valley CAP.

Backpacks w/ school supplies
Crayons to Classrooms is collecting backpacks with school supplies.  They have a goal of collecting 10,000 backpacks for all the children that have been affected by the tornadoes!  A list of the supplies per backpack can be found below.  Please clearly mark if a backpack is for PreK, Elementary or MS/HS (middle school/high school).
Bags can be dropped off at Crayons to Classrooms which is located at 1750 Woodman Drive, Dayton during the first week of August between 8am and 5pm.  More information about Crayons to Classrooms may be foundhere.

The purpose of the Miami Valley Disaster Recovery Team (MIVDRT) ministry is to organize and equip volunteers who serve others and share Christ when an unexpected disaster or crisis has damaged the security of individuals, families, and communities. The Miami Valley DRT demonstrates the love and hope found in Christ through practical and significant acts of kindness, mercy, witness, and care.
