The Miami Valley District is pleased to provide a Lenten worship series based on the work of the churches who participated in the November 2016 (?) Worship Design Seminar led by district staffer and Creative Worship Specialist Jason Moore: Baggage.
Whether you travel by car or by plane, dealing with baggage is never very much fun. It can be heavy, cumbersome. You have to pack it; and when you’re traveling by air, there’s always the concern it won’t show up on that conveyor to meet you when you arrive.
Along life’s journey we tend to pick up lots of baggage along the way. If the bag is too heavy, the journey is more difficult than it has to be. If the bag is too light, you might not have all that you need. Put the right stuff in the wrong bag, and it can be awkward to carry and the content might get damaged. Pick the right bag, but pack the wrong content, and you’re out of luck. It turns out, having the right bag packed with the right content makes all the difference.
Over the next six weeks, we’re going to take a look at six stories, and six bags connected to each of them. We’ll see how Jesus shows up in each story and in each of our lives to help us deal with our baggage.
