The Beverly Orr Memorial Scholarship
Now available for the 2009 / 2010 Academic Year
Beverly Orr was born in Lawrenceville, Ill on May 5, 1934. Beverly’s early school years were in a two-room country school, Cross Roads, in rural Lawrence County. She was very active in the United Brethren Church Youth Fellowship and Youth Choir. She was an advanced piano student of Mrs. J.C. Wittaker and a graduate of the Kroeger School of Music in St. Louis. Beverly was a long time member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Beavercreek for 40 plus years. She was also a member of the church choir, and United Methodist Women.
The Beverly Orr Memorial Scholarship Fund will be awarded by the Office of Financial Aid and the Department of Music. The Department of Music will make the selection of the recipient. Application will be made to the Department of Music.
Recipients will:
1. Meet the artistic requirements for admission into the Department of Music,
2. be in good academic standing.
First preference will be given to:
1. Members of a United Methodist Church upon verification from the church office,
2. Students who have financial need, to be determined by the department of Music.
The amount and number of awards will be determined by the Department of Music, but each award is to be no let than $500.00.
It is our desire that this scholarship be awarded to a student who is a member of a United Methodist Church.

Rev. Don Wilson is being charged with aiding and abetting MDA with the intent of helping area residents with muscular dystrophy. Rev. Don Wilson will be one of the executives to be locked up during the Dayton Telethon Executive Lock-Up. Rev. Wilson's bail has been set at $2,400. He will be locked up on August 20, 2009 starting at 10:00 a.m.
