*48-hour Discernment & Formation Retreat
Register for September Ministry Retreat by August 5
The 48-hour Discernment & Formation Retreat is sponsored jointly by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and the General Board of Global Ministries.
For anyone who is seriously discerning a call to United Methodist set-apart ministry, or those in candidacy prior to commissioning for ordained ministry (deacon, elder, chaplain or pastoral counselor) or the lay office of deaconess or home missioner.
Note the shortened length of the event: Beginning 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 9, ending 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 11. Due to the unavoidable cancellation of one of the plenary guests, the retreat will end earlier than originally scheduled.
Begins on Thursday evening, Sept. 9, and end on Saturday afternoon, September 11. This will accommodate those who have to return home for Sunday morning responsibilities.

The site includes the schedule, housing and travel information, workshop descriptions and sign-up and plenary speakers. It also contains directions to send the invitation to others whom you think might be interested.

AED Equipment in Congregations
Grant Applications-The AED Equipment in Congregations Project are now taking Applications
Good Samaritan Hospital Health Ministries Program & Samaritan Health Foundation announce that grant funds have been awarded to the Samaritan Health Foundation by the Physician's Charitable Foundation of the Miami Valley for use in The AED Equipment in Congregations Project for area faith communities.
Created by the AED Use in Faith Communities Task Force. Designed to assist area faith communities in a process of either initiating or enhancing an existing, comprehensive first-aid program, to include CPR training and the ultimate procurement of AED equipment and the related training.
A matching funds style of grant, which requires the faith community to contribute a portion of the fees. If awarded, faith communities will receive a Phillips Onsite Heart Start AED, training for 10 people and a copy of Planning for Medical Emergencies - A Resource Guide for Congregations.
Faith communities interested in applying for matching funds grant can download a grant application.

North Hampton Asbury UMC
Emergency need for male counselor 21 or older to help with mission trip to Rutland, VT week of July 10-18. Will need to help with driving and help with supervision of 9 Jr-Sr High youth. One adult woman also going to counsel. We have had two counselors who have had to back out due to emergency situations. Everything is paid and this counselor can go for free. May need personal spending money. Please call for more info. This is an urgent need as we stand to lose all money sent in as well as have several disappointed youth who have worked hard for this.
